McDermotts on Dubai Creek 1970s

Building Dubai's Offshore Oil Industry

1970: McDermotts relocated their oil field construction facilites from Khafji in Saudi Arabia to a 100 acre site in Deiraside of Dubai Creek, adjacent to Al Maktoum Bridge.

McDermotts spent the next 17 years building massive structures on that site to support Dubai's Offshore Oil industry

These massive fstructures were loaded onto barges and towed down Dubai Creek to the open sea, then on to Al Fateh Oil Fields

In 1987 McDermotts moved to Jebel Ali Free Zone where they continue their operations today
